After a long pause, finally BlackBerry launched its BlackBerry Messenger for the Android and iOS platforms.
Earlier, BBM was set to launched on September 21 for Android and September 22 for iOS platforms, but both launches were aborted because of a leaked BBM apk file that caused a lot of problems at the BlackBerry Servers.
According to Blackberry blog, “About six million people signed up for information about BBM at BBM.com. As you know, in just seven hours, about one million Android users were using the unreleased version of BBM for Android. What you don’t know is that more than one million people have found creative ways to “side load” BBM on their iPhone. This is incredible.”

The easiest way to download BBM is to visit BBM.com from your Android or iPhone browser, and you will be automatically redirected to the download store.
Once you install the app, open it, and enter your email address to hold your spot in line, and you will get email you as soon as you reach the front of the line and can start using BBM.
